Professor Stadler named MRS Fellow

Professor Stadler was named a Fellow of the Materials Research Society for "For distinguished service to materials research and for pioneering work in magneto-photonics integration and magnetic nanowire devices that enable far-reaching applications of fundamental science to improve the quality of life."

Congratulations to Dr.Daniel Shore (centre) for successfully defending his thesis. Dr.Shore will take up a position at Seagate, Minnesota.

IEEE Magnetics Summer School

Joseph Um and Karthik Srinivasan were selected to attend the IEEE Magnetics Summer School, sponsored by IEEE Magnetics Society in Quito, Ecuador from 4-8 June 2018.

Karthik Srinivasan gave a talk on Seed-Layer Free Cerium-Doped Terbium Iron Garnet on Non-Garnet Substrates for Photonic Isolators at CLEO in San Jose, CA from 13-18 May 2018.

MRS Meetings and Exhibits Spring 2018

Professor Stadler and her students Thomas Gage, Joseph Um, Karthik Srinivasan and M. Reza Zamani attended the Material Research Society's (MRS) spring meeting in Phoenix, AZ from April 2-6, 2018. Tom, Joseph and Karthik gave a talk in the technical sessions and Reza presented a poster from their respective area of research.

Beth is Appointed Associate Head of Department

Prof. Beth Stadler has begun her tenure as Associate Department Head. In this position, she will oversee course scheduling, teaching assignments, the department’s summer session, and requests for equipment. She will also be the department’s research safety officer.
